Vintage Jeanneret King Chair
Reflecting the modernist principles of simplicity, the King Chair was designed by Pierre Jeanneret, circa 1950s. Originally designed for the Architect's Office, Secretariat, and administrative buildings in Chandigarh, India, this chair features a solid teak wood frame with a backrest and seat of woven cane. With its raw form, the compass-style legs and low profile give this chair a sculptural simplicity.
Pierre Jeanneret was a Swiss architect and furniture designer, most famous for his role in the design of Chandigarh's large civic architecture project. A lot of his work was alongside his cousin, Le Corbusier.
Style: Mid-Century Modern (Of the Period)
Period: Circa 1950s
